Lail is built by an independent developer with a deep respect for your privacy. This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and your rights.

Data We Collect

Lail collects the bare minimum needed to function:

Location data — Used solely to calculate accurate prayer times for your area. Your location is sent to the Aladhan API to retrieve prayer time data. It is never stored on any server, shared with third parties, or used for any other purpose.
Reading and prayer data — Your Quran reading progress, Tahajjud prayer logs, streaks, and badges are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data never leaves your device.

What We Do Not Do

We do not require or offer user accounts
We do not use cloud sync or remote storage
We do not use analytics or tracking tools
We do not display advertisements
We do not include third-party SDKs that collect user data
We do not sell, share, or transmit your personal data

Third-Party Services

Lail uses the Aladhan API to calculate prayer times. When you use the prayer times feature, your device's coordinates are sent to the Aladhan API, which returns calculated prayer times. No other personal information is transmitted. You can review the Aladhan API's practices at aladhan.com.

Data Storage

All app data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. No data is transmitted to external servers (except location coordinates sent to the Aladhan API as described above).

Data Deletion

You can delete all your data at any time by using the "Start Fresh" feature within the app's settings, which resets all reading progress, prayer logs, and badges. Alternatively, deleting the app from your device removes all associated data completely.

Children's Privacy

Lail does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Since the app does not require accounts and stores all data locally, no personal data is transmitted from users of any age.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy is updated, the changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Significant changes will be communicated through the app.
